Sherwood School students in Highland Park were entertained Sept. 22 by Inspector Iwannano. The program reinforced the six pillars of the school’s Character Counts program: respect, trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, fairness and good citizenship.
The Winnetka Public Library welcomed nine children on the afternoon of Sept. 13 to participate in crafts and activities relating to books authored by British novelist Roald Dahl. Dahl was made famous by books like "Matilda," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach" and "The Witches," among many others.

By the Dixon Prairie at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 36 students from Chicago's Audubon School, Dawes Elementary and McCorkle Elementary filled a time capsule June 2.
The Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe hosted Tu B'Shevat activities for families on Jan. 20. Kids and parents could plant parsley to take home, play with pots of soil, learn different facts about trees, and more. The National Council of Jewish Women sponsored the event.
