Illinois’ best Junior Golfers will play one of Lake County’s best courses, Steeple Chase Golf Club, July 28 thru August 1, when the course hosts the 28th Annual Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship. The weeklong Illinois Junior Golfers Association (IJGA) event is a culmination of five weeks of qualifying, bringing 156 golfers from around the state, boys ages 12 – 18, to Steeple Chase.

Opened in 1993, the Ken Killian-designed Steeple Chase Golf Club is a public 18-hole course and is part of the Mundelein Park & Recreation District. The course continues to receive high acclaim, receiving “5 Stars” from Chicagoland Golf and “4 Stars” in Golf Digest’s public “Places to Play” ranking. Steeple Chase is conveniently located at 200 N. La Vista Drive, off of Hawley Street (between Gilmer Road and Route 60/83) in Mundelein.
Junior golfers of all levels can enjoy the course with Steeple Chase’s Family Golf Program where children (ages 18 and under) play FREE every Sunday through Thursday (after 4 p.m.) with a paying adult.
