Dear Newspaper Writers,
Hello, my name is Stephanie Harold and I am part of Camp Kesem, a student group at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
Illinois’s very own Senator Richard Durbin is a lead sponsor and champion of a new and innovative bill, the Global Resources and Opportunities for Women to Thrive Act (GROWTH Act S.2069). If passed, the GROWTH Act has the potential to lift millions of women in the developing world out of poverty and to make the U.S. a leader on these issues. Worldwide, 1 billion people fight for survival on $1 or less per day. The GROWTH Act can mitigate this kind of extreme poverty and pave the way to a better and brighter future for millions of families across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Helping children and families in need is its own sweet reward, and ChildServ wants you to get a taste of that sweetness at a special wine tasting fundraising event, open to the public and set for Wednesday, April 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant in Naperville.
