The 33rd Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale to benefit Lake Forest Library programs began with a record turnout before it even opened Sept. 11.
Students and faculty at Lake Forest College gathered Sept. 11 in remembrance of the 9/11 victims on the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
August 6 marked the 100th year that Lake Forest Day has been celebrated, and residents of the city and friends from neighboring communities turned out in droves for the festivities.
Lake Forest workers in the parks and recreation, sanitation, fire and police departments use a variety of large and unusual vehicles on a regular basis, but once a year local kids get a chance to be behind the wheels of these rigs.
