Money rocks Lake Forest
Eddie Money performs at the "Roc for the Rec" July 3 festival.

Lake Foresters love Money. Eddie Money, that is, as the popular '80s rocker drew more than 1,000 enthusiastic fans to a July 3 concert in Deerpath Community Park.

The"Roc for the Rec" concert benefited the Friends of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Foundation to support programs and facilities. The entertainment was accompanied by carnival games, raffles, silent auctions, food and drink, and a fireworks display.

Money also sold t-shirts and CDs to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The festivities continued July 4 with a concert featuring Tom Chapin and 1980s theme cover band Sixteen Candles.
