Students from the School of Rock in Highwood performed at Port Clinton Square in Highland Park Oct. 10, rocking to the music of the Doors, Peter Tosh, No Doubt and other popular acts.

Sherwood School students in Highland Park were entertained Sept. 22 by Inspector Iwannano. The program reinforced the six pillars of the school’s Character Counts program: respect, trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, fairness and good citizenship.

Last summer I saw a squirrel in the park wearing a red collar. For a while I saw him every few days around the same area. Everybody thought I was seeing something else – it was injured or had paint on it or something.

By the Dixon Prairie at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 36 students from Chicago's Audubon School, Dawes Elementary and McCorkle Elementary filled a time capsule June 2.

The 2008 graduating class of Highland Park High School, along with family and friends, attended commencement ceremonies May 28.
