New Trier Township is accepting applications to provide financial support for child care costs to parents with demonstrated financial need who are working, attending school, or in a job training program.
Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs will honor long-time housing advocate Betsy Lassar with the Rayna and Marvin Miller Housing Justice Award as part of Interfaith’s 35th Anniversary Celebration being held at Evanston’s Maple Avenue Gallery (1745 Maple), Thursday, September 18th at 6:30pm.
New Trier Township is launching a Back-to-School drive. The Township sponsored effort provides a discount store gift card to help families who are struggling financially purchase required school supplies and needed clothing for their school age children.
The New Trier Township Assessor’s office is currently helping residents with 2008 property tax appeals to the Cook County Assessor. The deadline for those appeals is August 8th. Appointments are not needed, but residents are encouraged to call ahead (847-446-8200) to ensure prompt service.
