Everyone’s a critic, especially when it comes to movies. There are good movies and there are bad movies, ones that make people tear up and ones that make them scream. And, according to one film buff, there are the feature films that cry out to be talked about.

GardenABCs.com, a new, locally produced website, is helping educators, parents and local advocates start and maintain school and community gardens.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation is coming to Chicago July 30th - August 3rd to give a 4-day musical theatre intensive camp at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest. A concert will be given on Sunday evening August 3rd. This camp is designed for both children and adults who love musical theatre. Active Broadway actors teach and perform with the students. This year's teachers are the wonderful Hollis Resnik, Jarrod Emick, Jeremy Schonfeld and David Petro.

Outside of emergency situations the public rarely sees what police officers, firefighters and public works personnel do on the job. To give residents an idea of what local first responders and city workers are trained to do, the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) will open its doors to the public for the first time in its history.
