More than 100 people came to the Deerfield Public Library May 3 to get a taste of Mexican culture in celebration of the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Despite the snow, the Deerfield Optimist Club pulled off its annual egg hunt March 22. Jewett Park was blanketed with snow so the hunt was moved into the Jewett Park Community Center.

Shoppers at Whole Foods in Deerfield were treated with special St. Patrick's Day entertainment on Saturday, March 15. Thirty dancers from Trinity Academy of Irish Dance in Chicago performed two 20-minute performances for residents.

Santa Claus, age approx. 1,743, of the North Pole stopped in at Winter Wonderland at the Glen Town Center Dec. 16 to pose for pictures with pets.

The Chicago Chamber Choir filled St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Deerfield with their voices in a special holiday concert Dec. 16.
